


About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be a key figure in the home's structure, supporting the management team and mentoring staff.
You will:
- Lead shifts, ensuring therapeutic approaches are consistently delivered
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy with audits, key documentation, and risk management
- Act as a role model, guiding support workers in communication, behaviour management, and trauma-responsive care
- Build strong relationships with the young person and help implement care plans that promote safety, growth, and trust
- Take on responsibility during times of crisis or staffing shortages, using sound judgment and de-escalation skills

Requirements
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum requirement)
• Experience working in a children’s residential home, ideally with EBD or high-risk behaviours
• Leadership skills and experience leading shifts or mentoring junior staff
• Trauma-informed approach with a calm, resilient personality
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
• Driver preferred

Our new solo placement home in Burton-on-Trent will provide trauma-informed care to one young person in a safe, structured, and nurturing setting. As part of the core team, you will help lead the home’s development from the ground up and ensure daily routines reflect emotional security and high standards.
