About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in creating a safe and nurturing home where therapeutic care is embedded in daily practice.

You will:

- Lead care teams and model trauma-informed interactions
- Assist with rotas, training, audits, and internal systems
- Act as a key point of contact for professionals, families, and young people
- Guide the home through ongoing registration, compliance, and placement readiness
- Mentor junior staff and ensure a positive team culture
- Ensure consistent, compassionate responses to behaviour, communication, and emotional needs

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup-style environment and wants to build a lasting, meaningful home for vulnerable young people.

Requirements

• Residential childcare experience, ideally with EBD or complex needs


• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum), working toward Level 4 or higher


• Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice


• Leadership experience in a regulated care setting


• Driver’s licence preferred


• Calm, confident, and supportive approach to team and young people

About the Company

Care & Support Services is opening a new registered children’s home in Cannock, designed to provide therapeutic, consistent, and emotionally secure care for young people with complex needs. We are seeking a Deputy Manager to help lead the development of this new home from the beginning — embedding structure, culture, and high standards.
